MAMMOTH POOLS

Brown Trout caught at Mammoth Pools

Mammoth Pools is a gorgeous lake in the high country which is known for its exceptional trout fishing.  Its less than two hours from Oakhurst, or slightly more from Fresno.
We can do a simple early morning excursion, but I highly recommend staying at least one night.  Better yet, stay for two nights and enjoy three days of fishing! You'll need to make your own camping arrangements. Campgrounds are available for vehicles, and there are also first come first serve campgrounds available on the lakeshore which are only available by boat.
Mammoth Pools is also known for its crawdads, and on the 3 day 2 night fishing trips we'll set out traps and if we're lucky we'll have a crawdad feast the kids will remember forever: crawdads, potatoes, and corn on the cob all thrown out together on top of a plastic table cloth for messy finger food goodness!

RATES:
(minimum rates apply, see below)

Adults

$100.00 each

Children

12-15 $50.00 each
11 and under - FREE

$100 per day Boat & Equipment Fee

All trips can be for up to 5 people (4 adults maximum).  On the overnight trips you can 'mix and match' who these are for the morning and afternoon, so that you could actually have more than 5 people fish throughout your stay for the price of 5.

All minimum rates include the Boat & Equipment fee.

MINIMUM RATES:

1 Early Morning trip: $400 minimum

Overnight, which includes 3 fishing trips (early morning and late afternoon the first day, and early morning again on the second): $600 minimum.

3 day, 2 night, which includes 5 fishing trips (3 early morning and 2 in the afternoon): $1,000.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND:

3 days 2 nights of camping and fishing, including a "crawdad feast" if we're lucky!  You'll need to arrange for and set up your own camp site, which are available for vehicles, and there are also campsites around the lakeshore which are only accessible by boat.

Day 1:
  • Arrival and morning fishing
  • Transport camping gear to boat only accessible campsite, if desired
  • Afternoon fishing
  • Place crawdad traps

Day 2

  • Morning fishing
  • Afternoon fishing
  • Crawdad feast

Day 3

  • Morning fishing
  • Transport gear back to land

Note: Different combinations of people can fish on the overnight trips.  For example, if your group includes 4 adults and 5 children, you might wish to purchase a trip for 2 adults and 3 children, as an example. Then "Adult A" and "Adult B" fish the morning, and "Adult C" and "Adult D" fish the afternoon, and with 6 adults in your group you could even have two entirely different adults fish the next morning.  The same is true for the children, and this is perfectly acceptable.
